MBKC Round 10 September 2005 Race Report
The Minimax championship it must be said looks pretty much a cut and
dried affair, with last years Cadet champion Daniel Murphy way out
in front at the head of the table and, although not racing today,
his chances were unlikely to be diminished. Still plenty to go for
however, and the heats were taken by Cumbrian challenger Kalvin
Quinn, Ryan Singleton and Joe McKeand. Singleton and Amy Scarisbrick
shared the front row but on lap one it was Singleton who made the
better start with Quinn, McKeand and Jordan Kinvig all close behind.
Singleton generally looked in control as Robert Gilmour joined the
leading pack to turn it into a five way joust, then, on the
penultimate lap, contact between Singleton and Gilmour saw both lose
their momentum, leaving McKeand in the clear to bring it home
narrowly from Quinn, the winning margin being just 0.346 secs, with
Kinvig close again in third spot, Scarisbrick coming through for
fourth.
